Apps are supposed to make ouR lives easier.
Unfortunately they often end up leading a lonely existence three swipes into our phones. I have been managing social media strategies since 2009, and in that time, I've seen a ton of apps come and go. I've also found my absolute favorites and my work wouldn't be possible without them. I use these guys daily.
Here's my criteria: they have to be beautiful, simple and efficient.
So my lovelies, here are my all-time favorites, curated just for you:
1. Flipboard: This app is a dream. It's an mobile-magazine that you can custom based on your interests and industry. You can "flip" (save) articles into folders you create and share directly from here to social media. Best of all? NO waiting for articles to load.
2. Sprout Social: I've known these guys since they launched. This is an amazing tool for those more serious about social media management. You can manage Facebook, Twitter, LikedIn, Instagram and Google Plus right here. Seriously, only log in here.* You can respond to conversations from customers, listen for opportunities to engage with new customers and pull beautiful and simple reports. It's $59/ month, which for me is worth every single penny.
3. Evernote: Evernote is a digital workspace that makes my life possible (I could go on!). Here's one way it helps with social media - any inspiration: an article, a quick idea, a screenshot on Instagram - all can go in my folder for that one client. And it's searchable. Your note from 2012 that is related to what you're doing now? Just a quick search away!
4. Vsco Cam: When it comes to making your photos more beautiful and professional, this is absolutely my go-to app. Increase the exposure, sharpen the image, increase the saturation on your photo and the difference will blow your mind. It's a must before I publish a photo.
At the end of the day, these apps save me time, help me organize my ideas, inspire creativity and help me find new business opportunities. I hope they can do the same for you! I'd love to hear if you try any of these and how it goes!
*Instagram is the only social media platform of those mentioned that doesn't allow other apps to post to their platform.
